Ingredients:
• 1 cup – gram dal
• 1 cup – powdered Jaggery
• 1/2 cup – shredded Coconut
• 2 tbsp – Ghee
• 1 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 2 tbsp – Raisins
• 1 tbsp – cashews
Method:
- Pressure cook the gram dal in 2.5 cups of water for 2-3 whistles or till soft.
- Turn off the heat and allow it to cool. After pressure drops, drain the water and gently mash it.
- Combine jaggery, gram dal and 1 tbsp of ghee and heat it on medium low heat.
- Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides. (This will take approximately 20-40 minutes, depending on the heat)
- Add cardamom powder and turn off the heat.
- Fry cashews and raisins in the remaining ghee and add to the mixture.
