
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Beaten Rice (Poha)
• 2 tsp – Tamarind paste
• 2 tsp – Jaggery
• Salt to taste
• 1.5 cups – Water
• 1 tsp – Chilli powder
• 2 tbsp – Grated Coconut
• Coriander leaves for garnishing
• Seasoning ingredients:
• 2 tbsp – Oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• A pinch of Turmeric
• 1/4 tsp – Bengal Gram dal
• 1/4 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1/2 tsp – Groundnut
• Curry leaves
Method:
- Coarsely grind poha for a few seconds in a blender.
- Make sure it doesn’t become powdery.
- Add tamarind, jaggery, salt, chilli powder and salt to water.
- Mix well and add the coarse poha.
- Heat oil and add mustard. Allow it to splutter.
- Add turmeric, asafoetida, curry leaves and the rest of the seasoning ingredients.
- Add the soaked poha to the seasoning.
