Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – Val / Hyacinth beans
• 1/2 cup – Toor Dal (cooked)
• 1 – Onion, chopped
• 1 – Tomato, chopped
• 2 – Green chillies (slit opened)
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seed + Urad Dal
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida powder
• 1/2 tsp – Sambar powder
• 5 – Curry leaves
• Salt
• Oil
Method:
- Soak the dry val beans in water overnight.
- Pressure Cooked them for 2 whistles. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard + urad dal and asafoetida powder and let them splutter. Add the chopped onion and tomato pieces and let them cook for a while.
- Add the green chillies and cooked toor dal with enough salt and water and bring them to a boil.
- Add the sambar powder and cooked val /hyacinth beans to the boiling dal and cook.
- Add curry leaves and turn off the stove.
