Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – grated coconut.
• 15 – black pepper corns.
• 2 tbsp – fennel.
• 4 – medium sized ridge gourds.
• 1 – onion.
• 1- tomato.
• 1 – green chilli.
• 1/2 tsp – turmeric.
• 2 tbsp – oil.
• A few curry leaves.
• Salt.

Method:

  1. Grind coconut, fennel and pepper to a thick smooth paste.
  2. Pour oil in a pan. Add chopped onions, fry till transparent.
  3. Add curry leaves, green chilli and turmeric.
  4. Add tomato and cook well.
  5. Now add the chopped ridge gourds, cook till it becomes tender.
  6. Add some water and salt. Cook covered for 7 mins.
  7. Make sure that the vegetable is cooked.
  8. Add the ground masala to the vegetable.
  9. Cook till the masala is absorbed.
  10. Serve hot with chapattis or rice.
