Ingredients:
• Toor dal- 1 cup
• Red Chillies – 3
• Salt to taste
• Jeera – 1 tsp
• Urad Dal – 1/2 tsp
• A few Curry leaves
• Oil – 2 tbsps
• Garlic pods – 4
Method:
- Dry roast toor dal in a kadai till golden brown.
- Heat oil in a pan to make the tempering.
- Add red chillies, urad dal and jeera to the pan. Fry till golden brown.
- Add curry leaves and garlic pods. Give it a stir for a few seconds.
- Grind roasted tuvar dal with little water, grated coconut and the tempering.
- Serve with dosas or idlis.
