
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Raw Rice
• 1 cup – Idli Rice
• 1/2 cup – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – Fenugreek seeds
• Other ingredients:
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Moong dal
• 1/2 cup – Grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp – Cardamom powder (optional)
Method:
- Soak both rice and urad dal with fenugreek seeds separately at least for 5 hours.
- Drain it and grind the rice coarsely with urad dal to form thick batter.
- Let the batter ferment and double in volume by resting overnight.
- Roast the moong dal until they turn brown.
- Add the cardamom powder (optional), sugar to the batter and mix them well.
- Grease the idli plates and fill them with batter, sprinkle moong dal and grated coconut over them.
- Steam cook for 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with chutney.
