Ingredients:

• 1 – small bottle gourd.
• Handful – roasted peanuts.
• 3 – green chillies.
• 2 tbsp – Channa dal.
• 1/2 tsp -garlic-ginger paste.
• 1/2 tsp – garam-masala powder.
• Asafoetida – a pinch.
• Turmeric powder – a pinch.
• 1/2 tsp – cumin seeds.
• 1/2 tsp – mustard seed.
• 2 tbsp – coriander leaves.
• 1 tbsp – oil.
• Salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Roast the peanuts and grind it along with green chillies and water into a smooth paste.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard and cumin seeds.
  3. Add asafoetida, ground paste and fry for 3 mins.
  4. Then add cubes of bottle gourd, channa dal, garam-masala and salt to taste.
  5. Add 1.5 cup water and let it boil for 5-8 mins, till well cooked.
  6. Serve.
