Ingredients:

• 75 gms – grated Corn
• 750 ml – Milk
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1 handful – almonds, sliced
• 1 handful – pistachios, sliced
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• A few strands – saffron, crushed

Method:

  1. Put grated corn, milk (Reserving one tsp for later use) and sugar in a large casserole.
  2. Microwave on ‘High’ for five minutes without covering the casserole.
  3. Stir and microwave on ‘High’ for six minutes more. Stir once again.
  4. The milk will turn fairly thick and the corn will get cooked.
  5. Add the almonds, pistachios and cardamom powder, reserving some for garnishing.
  6. Dissolve saffron in one tsp of milk and add to the milk.
  7. Microwave on ‘High’ for two minutes.
  8. When cool, refrigerate the kheer till serving time.
