Ingredients:
• Maida or American flour – 3 cups
• Salt – to taste
• Water – 3 cups
• 1 – coconut, scraped
• Sugar – 2 tbsp
Method:
- Mix flour with a little salted water, should be like chapatti dough.
- Roll out using flour on a board like you would to make a chapatti.
- Then using a small saucer or tiffin cover, just cut out the rounds, keep on a tray.
- Now in a broad mouth vessel filled with a little more than 1/2 with water, allow to boil.
- Once it starts to boil, drop 4 or 5 mallithas into the bubbling water.
- When cooked, the mallithas will come to the top.
- Remove with a flat spoon, drain well, place on a greased plate.
- Use scraped coconut & sugar to eat.
