Ingredients:

• Onion – 3 medium
• Tomatoes – 1
• Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
• Chilli powder – 1.5 tsp
• Grated Coconut – 3 tbsp
• Coconut oil – for frying
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Cut the onion into small pieces. When the oil becomes hot, put the onions in and fry.
  2. Saute till the onion becomes golden brown.
  3. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder.
  4. Put the chopped tomatoes into the pan and fry till the raw smell is gone.
  5. Add salt. Do not add water.
  6. Remove from fire and let it cool.
  7. Put the fried onion and tomatoes into a mixer when it cools down.
  8. Add the grated coconut and grind into a paste.
  9. Onion tomato chutney is ready. You can use this with dosa.
