Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Parboiled Rice
• 1/2 cup – Red cowpeas
• 1/2 cup – Urad Dal
• 1 inch piece – Ginger
• 2 – Dry Red Chillies
• Salt

Method:

  1. Soak red cowpeas with enough water overnight.
  2. Soak parboiled rice and urad dal separately for 2 hours.
  3. Drain the excess water from the red cowpeas, wash 3 times with cold water and keep aside.
  4. Grind rice coarsely with ginger and red chillies.
  5. Grind both urad dal and red cowpeas finely.
  6. Mix batters with enough salt and keep aside for 2 hours.
  7. Heat a tawa, pour a ladleful of batter, spread in circular shape and cook with enough oil.
