Ingredients:
• 1 – Puff pastry
• Few strawberries, chopped
• For pastry cream:
• 1 cup – Milk
• 1 tsp – Vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 2 – eggs
• 2 tbsp – Corn flour
• 1 tbsp – Butter
Method:
- Bring the milk to boil.
- Meanwhile beat the egg, sugar, salt and flour together.
- While whisking, add half of the hot milk slowly* and start whisking immediately.
- Add this egg mixture to the remaining hot milk.
- Cook the milk and egg mixture, on a low flame and whisk it continuously, until the mixture starts to boil.
- Reduce the heat further and cook until it gets thickened.
- Add the butter, vanilla extract and mix well.
- Turn off the heat, keep covered and let it cool.
- Preheat the oven to 350F, arrange the pastry sheet in a baking tray and place an aluminium foil inside the pastry sheet and spread the dry peas equally.
- Blind bake the pastry sheet in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until it turns brown. Remove peas.
- With a cookie cutter, cut the pastry sheet as medium sized circles.
- Put the pastry cream in a pastry bag; gently pipe it down onto the Bake sheets.
- Gently arrange the chopped strawberry chunks and serve.
