Ingredients:

• 3 tsp – Oats
• 1 – Red Chilli
• 1 – Green chilli
• 1/2 inch – Ginger, grated
• Curry leaves – 5 -6
• Coriander leaves – a few
• 1 tsp – Oil
• 100ml -Butter Milk
• Salt to taste
• 200 ml Water
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal
• A pinch of Asafoetida

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
  2. Add urad dal, red chilli and asafoetida.
  3. Add ginger, green chilli and chopped curry leaves too.
  4. Now add the oats and the water.
  5. Add salt, and cook till the oats are tender.
  6. Take off the gas, allow to cool and add the butter milk.
