
Ingredients:
• 1 kg – Crab
• 2 – big Onions finely sliced
• 4 – big Tomatoes chopped
• 6 tbsps – oil
• 1 tbsp – chilli powder
• 1 tbsp – Kashmiri chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• salt to taste
• Chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing
• 1/2 cup – water
Method:
- Heat 3 tbsps of oil and fry the onions till brown.
- Remove half the fried onions and keep aside.
- To the remaining half of the onions in the pan, add chopped tomato and continue to fry till soft.
- Remove from heat and keep aside to cool.
- Grind the fried onions and tomato to a smooth paste.
- Heat a deep pan with 3 tbsps oil.
- When hot, lower the heat. Add the ground paste and fry for 2-3 mins.
- Add red chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. |Continue to fry the masala for a further 2-3 mins.
- Add a little water so that it does not burn. Fry till the oil separates.
- Add crabs and 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 8-10 mins or till crabs are cooked and the gravy has thickened.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and fried onions.
