Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Mixed dals (channa dal, masoor dal, Toor Dal soaked for 2hours)
• 1 – Onion (big and chopped)
• 2 – Green chillies (chopped)
• 1 tsp – Ginger (chopped)
• 1/2 tsp – Fennel seeds (crushed)
• Few Curry leaves
• Few Coriander leaves (chopped)
• Salt
• Oil for greasing
Method:
- Drain the excess water from the dals and grind the dals coarsely without adding water. (If it is too dry to grind just sprinkle few drops of water).
- Add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, ginger pieces, chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves, crushed fennel seeds and salt to the ground batter and mix everything well.
- Make small balls with the palms and flatten them.
- Arrange the flattened vadas over the idly plates lined with parchment paper.
- Steam cook for 10-15 minutes in an idly cooker and enjoy warm with ketchup or chutneys.
