Ingredients:

• 4 – Onion (long cut)
• 3 – Tomato (cubes)
• 4-5 tbsp – oil
• salt to taste
• 1 tbsp – Sugar
• Turmeric powder a pinch
• 1/4 tbsp – Mustard Seeds
• Coriander leaves
• To roast and powder:
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 2 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 1/4 tbsp – black pepper
• 1 tbsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tbsp – Channa dal
• 1 tbsp – Jeera

Method:

  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds to it.
  2. Add the onion to it after the mustard seeds splutters.
  3. Continue frying till the onions are golden brown.
  4. Add tomatoes and fry for another 5 mins.
  5. Add a pinch of turmeric powder, salt (as required), sugar, powdered masala and cook until raw smell disappears.
  6. Arrange on a serving dish and garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
  7. This curry goes well with chapattis, puris and naans.
