
Ingredients:
• Firm pressed Tofu – 1 block cut into 4, both horizontally and vertically
• For marinade:
• 1/4 cup – thick yogurt/hung yogurt
• 1 tsp – Ginger and Garlic
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Kashmir chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1/2 squeezed – Lemon
• Salt – to taste
• 2 tsp – besan/gram flour
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• For making sandwich: Bread – Wheat or white
• Mint chutney, coriander chutney
• 3 slices – raw Onion (optional)
• Cucumber slices, a few
• Chaat masala, a little
Method:
- Whisk all the ingredients that are given under the marinade list. Apply the paste on the tofu on both the sides, cover them and keep refrigerated for minimum 2 hrs or even the whole night.
- Heat a flat pan, smear some oil, and roast the tofu by spraying a little oil on low flame.
- Let them roast on all sides, flip them once in a while.
- Once they are well roasted on all sides, remove them, garnish with sliced onion, lemon wedges and sprinkle a little chaat masala on top.
- If you’re using it for sandwich then here you go.
- You can use griller for making sandwiches by filling everything except cucumber OR
- Follow these steps:
- Toast the bread till golden brown.
- Apply the chutney on one side; place sliced onion, cucumber.
- Keep the tandoori tofu; sprinkle a little chaat masala, close with the other bread slice which is applied with chutney.
- Your sandwich is now ready.
