
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Moong dal flour
• 1/4 cup – Gram flour
• 2 cups – Rice flour
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida powder
• 1 tbsp – Ajwain seeds
• Salt
• Oil for deep frying
Method:
- Soak the ajwain seeds in a cup of warm water.
- Grind as a fine paste and strain the ajwain water.
- Take the moong dal flour, gram flour, rice flour, asafoetida powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Gradually, add the ajwain water and knead into a soft and stiff dough.
- Heat the oil for deep frying.
- Meanwhile, take the murukku press and press with the omapodi nozzle.
- Take enough dough in the murukku press and press directly to the hot oil.
- Fry the omapodi on both sides until they turn golden brown.
- Drain the excess oil with a paper towel and arrange in an air tightened box.
- Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.
