
Ingredients:
• For boiling:
• 1 kg – crab, cleaned and cut into pieces
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – ginger, crushed
• 1/2 tsp – garlic, crushed
• 2 to 3 – gambooge/ kudampuli (adjust according to your taste)
• Salt – to taste
• Few – Curry leaves
• For stir frying:
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 7 to 8 – Shallots
• 4 Cloves – Garlic
• 4 to 5 – pepper Corns
• 1 tsp – Fennel seeds
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 – onion, chopped
Method:
- Put the cleaned crab, along with the ingredients for boiling, in an earthen pot with 1/4 cup of water. Cover and cook on low heat, till the crab is well cooked and the water dries off.
- Crush the shallots along with garlic, fennel seeds and pepper corns. Keep it aside.
- In a pan, heat oil and saute the onions, till they turn golden brown.
- Add the crushed mixture and saute, till the raw smell goes. Add chilli, coriander and turmeric powder. Stir for a minute.
- Add the crab and stir well.
- Let it cook for a couple of minutes, stirring in between.
- Switch off the heat and transfer to a serving dish.
