Ingredients:

• 3 cups Rice
• 1/2 – Onion
• 1 cup – Tamarind juice
• 3 tsp – grated Coconut
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 3 to 4 – red dry chilly
• 4 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 4 to 5 – spring Curry leaves
• 2 tsp – groundnut
• 2 tsp – Channa dal
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 flake – Garlic
• salt to taste
• Jaggery – to taste

Method:

  1. Cook rice and keep aside.
  2. Take a kadai, heat oil. Add mustard and pop it. Add curry leaves, onion, groundnut, channa dal, urad dal, garlic, red chilli and fry them to light brown.
  3. Add the tamarind juice, turmeric, jaggery and chilli powder (according to taste). Add salt to taste.
  4. Cook for 10-15 mins until it thickens (semi-liquid) and then let it cool.
  5. Take the cooked rice and spread it on a plate. Let it cool for about 5 mins.
  6. Then add the goju (the paste). Mix well along with the grated coconut.
