Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Bottle Gourd (cubed)
• 1 cup – Moong dal
• 1 tbsp – Ginger (grated)
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 3 – Green chillies
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 – Bay Leaves
• 2 – Dry Red Chillies
• Salt
• 1/2 tsp – Sugar
• A few Coriander leaves
Method:
- Cook the moong dal in pressure cooker for 2 whistles with salt until it turns soft.
- Once the steam is released, add the cubed bottle gourd, turmeric powder and cook with lid closed until the bottle gourd pieces are well done.
- In a small pan, saute the bay leaves, dry red chillies and mustard. Add the tempered spices to the dal.
- Add green chillies, grated ginger and sugar and cook for a few minutes.
- Add coriander leaves and take off the stove.
- Serve hot with rice and pickles or papads.
