Ingredients:

• 1 kg – chicken, cut into 1 inch pieces
• 8 – Red Chillies
• 2 – Onion (medium size)
• 1.5 inch piece Ginger
• 1 – Garlic (full)
• Coriander leaves – handful
• 2 tsp – coriander powder
• 7 -cloves
• 1 – Cinnamon stick (small)
• 1 tbsp – aniseed
• 2 – Tomato (small size)
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 – Lemon
• 1 tsp – Chicken masala
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Grind onion, ginger, garlic, chillies, coriander leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick, aniseed and keep aside.
  2. Grind the tomato separately.
  3. In a cooker, pour a little oil and fry onions till golden brown, then add the ground masala.
  4. Then add tomatoes and stir for 5-6 mins.
  5. To this mixture, add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chicken masala, lemon and salt.
  6. Add chicken pieces and cook for 25 mins.
  7. Serve.
