Ingredients:

• 250 g – potatoes.
• 2 tsp – Peanut paste.
• 2 tsp – til paste.
• 2 – 3 tsp – Tamarind pulp.
• 1 tsp – cumin seed.
• 2 – tej patta (bay leaf).
• 1 stick – cinnamon.
• 2 -4 – clove.
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder.
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 1 tsp – Ginger paste.
• 1 tsp – Garlic paste.
• 4 tsp – oil.
• salt.

Method:

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes, wash and keep aside.
  2. Fry peanut and til separately, and grind them into a fine paste separately.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes till it becomes golden brown.
  4. In the same pan, add tej patta (bay leaf), garam masala (cinnamon and clove), cumin seeds and stir well.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and fry for a few minutes.
  6. Now add ground peanut, til paste and 1/2 cup of water and stir properly.
  7. Now add fried potatoes and stir well.
  8. Then add tamarind pulp and salt to taste. Stir till oil separates.
  9. Now add 1 cup of water. Cook it on low flame.
  10. Remove from fire and garnish with grated coriander leaves.
  11. Serve hot with puris or parathas.
