
Ingredients:
• 1 kg – Chicken ( usually one whole Chicken) skinless
• 1.5 nos Onions sliced
• 2 nos – Tomatoes
• 2 nos – Green chillies
• 1 cup – Coriander leaves chopped
• 1/4 cup – Mint leaves
• 1.5 tsp – chilly powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 cup – yogurt
• 1/2 cup – Oil
• Whole spices 1 each of cardamom, Cinnamon and Cloves
• 3 tsp – Ginger , ground
• 2 tsp – Garlic , ground
• 3 tsp – Coconut Milk (available in cans)
• Salt to taste
Method:
- First wash and drain chicken.
- Pour oil, add the spices, then add the sliced onions and fry till golden brown.
- Add ground garlic and fry for a minute or so. Then add the chicken and fry for 3 mins.
- Then add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger paste, powders and fry again for few mins.
- Then add the yogurt, chopped coriander, mint, salt and let boil.
- As soon as it starts to boil, stir well and reduce heat. Cover and let cook on low heat for about 25 mins.
- Then add coconut milk, cover and let simmer again for another 5-10 mins. Tastes very good with naan, parathas or rice.
