Ingredients:

• 2 cup – moong dal (split green gram)
• 1 cup – Rice
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• salt to taste
• 4 tbsp – Butter or Ghee
• 1 tsp – chopped coriander
• For raita:
• 2 cup – plain yogurt
• 1/2 cup – chopped Tomato
• 2 tbsp – chopped Onion
• Rock Salt to taste
• 1 tsp – roasted Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – dried Mint leaves

Method:

  1. For khichdi:
  2. Cook washed dal and rice in a pressure cooker with salt, turmeric powder and two glass water for 3 whistles.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan add cumin seeds as it started crackle transfer it over cooked khichdi.
  4. Garnish with coriander.
  5. For raita:
  6. Mix first three ingredients in a bowl, season with salt and cumin seeds, and garnish with dried or fresh mint leaves.
  7. Keep in fridge, serve chilled with khichdi.
