Ingredients:

• 1 cup – skinless black lentils, soaked for 2 to 3 hours
• 2 tbsp – Rice flour
• 2 tbsp – chopped Onions
• 1 tbsp – chopped coriander
• 1 tsp – grated Ginger
• 1/2 tsp – crushed peppercorns
• Salt to taste
• A pinch of baking soda
• Oil to deep-fry

Method:

  1. Soak black lentils and drain excess water.
  2. Grind it to make a smooth batter
  3. Add all other ingredients except baking soda and mix well. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
  4. Just before frying, add baking soda into it and whisk it well for 2-3 mins.
  5. Heat oil in deep-frying pan and put big spoonful of batter.
  6. Fry till golden-brown in colour.
  7. Serve hot.
