Ingredients:
• 2 cups – raw Rice
• 1 cup – Urad Dal
• 1 cup – pottukadalai/fried gram
• 150 g – Dalda or Butter
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• A pinch Hing
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Soak the rice for one hour. Drain the water and allow the rice to dry on a cloth for half an hour.
- Grind the rice in a blender.
- Fry the urad dal in a kadai for 5 mins till the raw smell disappears.
- Grind it with pottukadalai.
- Mix the flours with butter, hing, cumin seeds, salt and water to make a dough (like chapatti).
- Heat oil in the kadai.
- Use a presser to make the murukku and fry in the oil.
