Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – Maida
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• 1 tbsp – oil (for dough)
• Oil – 4 tbsp
• 1/2 cup – water
• 2 cups – Milk
• 1 cup – Sugar
• Sliced Almonds (fried)
Method:
- Take the flour, salt, oil in a bowl.
- Add a little water at a time to make a dough.
- Cover with a damp towel and keep aside for half an hour.
- Then knead again for few minutes until the dough turns smooth, firm and pliable.
- Divide the dough into 3 equal-sized pieces, roll a piece as a ball between your palms.
- Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a disc.
- Make the discs as thin as possible and use less flour to roll them thinly.
- Cut the dough as small squares with a knife.
- Shape each square into a flower and continue until the dough gets finished.
- Leave the flower-shaped dough on the tray for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Next day, heat oil for frying. Once the oil is hot, fry the dried flower shaped dough until they turn crispy.
- In a heavy bottomed pan, take the milk, water and heat it, add the fried flowers and cook on simmer for 15 minutes until they turn soft.
- Finally add the sugar and mix.
- Add more water if needed and cook them for few more minutes.
- Once done, add the shallow fried sliced almonds.
- Serve at room temperature.
