Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Horse gram/Lentils/Kollu
• 1 – Onion (chopped)
• 2 – Green chillies (chopped)
• 1 tsp – Ginger (chopped)
• 5 – Curry leaves
• 1/2 tsp – Fennel seed powder
• Salt
• Oil for Deep Frying
Method:
- Soak the horse gram for at least two hours, drain the water and grind into a coarse paste without water.
- If it is too hard to grind, sprinkle some water.
- Add the chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, fennel seed powder and salt, and mix well.
- Heat the oil for Deep Frying, take a small ball from the horse gram-spice mixture, flatten in your palms and gently add to the hot oil.
- Fry until well done.
- Drain the excess oil with a paper towel.
- Serve hot with spicy coconut chutney.
