Ingredients:

• Besan – 1/2 kg
• Tartaric acid – 18 g
• Cooking soda – 15 g
• Salt – 25 g
• Sugar – 75 g
• Oil – 50 g
• Mustard – 2 tsp
• Sesame – 2 tsp
• Green chilli – 15
• Coconut grated – 1/2 cup
• Sugar – 2 tsp
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Dissolve salt, tartaric acid and sugar in water.
  2. Sieve the soda into the besan and add it to the mixture.
  3. Beat well till the dough rises.
  4. Heat the steamer and pour the batter onto the tray and steam for 25 minutes at medium temperature.
  5. Cut into pieces.
  6. Prepare a dressing by taking hot oil and adding mustard seeds, sesame seeds, diced green chillies, sugar and salt.
  7. Pour on the khaman and garnish with grated coconut.
