Ingredients:

• 2 cups – white peas
• 2 – large onions, chopped
• 2 – large Tomatoes
• 3 – green chillies, chopped
• salt to taste
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – black salt
• 2 tbsp – Mint chutney
• 2 sprigs – Mint leaves
• 2 tbsp – Tamarind chutney
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1 tsp – dry Mango powder
• Lemon to taste
• Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Soak the white peas overnight.
  2. Pressure-cook the peas the next morning for 10 minutes. Let the peas rest in steam for another 10 minutes (open and keep checking to prevent over steaming).
  3. Pour the peas into a big mixing bowl and add chopped tomatoes, onions, green chillies and mint leaves.
  4. Mix well and add both the mint and tamarind chutneys.
  5. Add the dry masalas and lemon juice and mix well.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
