Ingredients:
• 2 cups – white peas
• 2 – large onions, chopped
• 2 – large Tomatoes
• 3 – green chillies, chopped
• salt to taste
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – black salt
• 2 tbsp – Mint chutney
• 2 sprigs – Mint leaves
• 2 tbsp – Tamarind chutney
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1 tsp – dry Mango powder
• Lemon to taste
• Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
- Soak the white peas overnight.
- Pressure-cook the peas the next morning for 10 minutes. Let the peas rest in steam for another 10 minutes (open and keep checking to prevent over steaming).
- Pour the peas into a big mixing bowl and add chopped tomatoes, onions, green chillies and mint leaves.
- Mix well and add both the mint and tamarind chutneys.
- Add the dry masalas and lemon juice and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
