Ingredients:
• 1 cup – masoor dal
• 1/2 cup – carrot, peeled and diced
• 1/2 cup – cabbage, shredded
• 1/4 cup – brinjal, diced
• 1/4 cup – peas
• 1/4 cup – Capsicum
• 1 cup – onion, diced
• 1/2 cup – tomato, diced
• 1 tsp – mustard
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 3 – Green chillies
• 3 tsp – gotsu powder
• For gotsu powder:
• 1 tbsp – Channa dal
• 1 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 2 tsp – cumin
• 4 – Red Chillies
Method:
- For the gotsu powder:
- Roast channa dal, coriander seeds, cumin and red chillies in a little oil and dry grind them and store it in an airtight container
- For the gotsu:
- Crackle mustard, add urad dal, cumin and green chillies.
- Add the onions and fry till translucent. Add the tomatoes and capsicum and saute for 2-3 mins.
- Now add the masoor dal, water and boil till the dal is tender.
- Add the vegetables and boil further until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the gotsu powder and stir for a minute.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
