
Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Small Onions (Sambar Onions)
• 1 – Coconut grated
• 3.5 tbsp – coriander Powder
• 2 tbsp – Chilli Powder
• 2 tbsp – Oil
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 – Tamarind, small ball soaked in water.
• Salt to taste
• For seasoning
• Mustard
• few – Curry leaves
Method:
- Saute the onions in a little oil for 3 mins.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and fry the coconut (till light brown) in it with coriander, turmeric and chilli powder for 2 minutes on low flame. Grind this into a fine paste.
- Make a fine pulp from the tamarind and add it to the ground masala.
- Place the masala on fire, add salt, the onions and cook till onions are done.
- Finally season it with mustard and curry leaves.
- Serve with rice or dosas.
