Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup – Butter
• 3/4 cup – ground Sugar
• 3 eggs
• 5 tbsp – powdered Almonds
• 1&1/4 cup – flour (maida)
• 1/4 cup – Milk
• 2 pears, peeled, sliced
• 2 tbsp – almonds, finely sliced
• For the custard:
• 2 tbsp – plain custard powder
• 4 tbsp – Sugar
• 2 tsp Ginger powder
• 2 tbsp – Butter
Method:
- Beat butter and sugar together till frothy.
- Add eggs, one at a time.
- Add almond powder, flour and milk gradually to make a thick batter.
- Make custard by mixing powder with sugar and ginger.
- Add milk and mix well so that there are no lumps.
- Stir over heat till smooth and creamy.
- Add the butter.
- In a baking dish, pour the cooled custard.
- Arrange pears over.
- Pour cake batter on top and sprinkle sliced almonds.
- Bake in a medium oven till golden and moist.
- Serve with extra custard if you like (In that case, double the custard quantity)
