Ingredients:
• For the cover: 150 g – fat (margarine/butter)
• 200 g – flour
• 50 g – Sugar
• For the crumble: 100 g – flour
• 50 g – fat (margarine/ butter)
• 50 g – Sugar
• For the filling:
• 1/2 dozen – apples
• 50 g – Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – Lemon juice
• 1 tsp – Cinnamon powder
Method:
- Sieve the flour. Rub in the fat until you get a bread crumb-like consistency.
- Add sugar.
- Make a soft dough adding cold water and keep aside.
- For the crumble:
- Sieve the flour and rub in the fat.
- Add sugar and mix well.
- Leave the mixture dry.
- For the filling:
- Peel the apples and finely slice them.
- Add sugar, cinnamon powder and a few drops of lime juice.
- Roll out the pastry to 1/8 inch thickness
- Line the bottom of a greased souffle tin or a pie tin.
- Arrange all the apple slices and sprinkle over with crumble.
- Bake at 150 degrees till done.
