Ingredients:

• 1.5 cup – graham cracker crumbs
• 1/4 cup – butter, melted and cooled
• 1/3 cup – Sugar
• 2 tbsp – Brown sugar
• 1 – apple, sliced
• 1 tbsp – water
• 2 tbsp – Corn starch/vanilla custard powder
• 1/4 cup – Brown sugar
• 1 cup – Milk
• 1 tsp – vanilla essence

Method:

  1. Combine crumbs, butter and sugar.
  2. Press into bottom and up the sides of a 9 inch pie plate.
  3. Baking a graham cracker crust is optional.
  4. If desired, bake the crust in an oven preheated to 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. Another way to set the crust is to refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
  6. Take apple slices in a bowl, add sugar and butter, mix and set aside.
  7. Into a pan add brown sugar, corn starch and milk.
  8. Add vanilla essence, turn on the gas and cook till it thickens.
  9. Custard filling:
  10. Arrange coated apple slices over the pre-settled crust, pour the custard filling and bake at 180 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
  11. Else you may set this custard pie in the refrigerator for several hours or till it sets well.
  12. Cut slices and serve.
