Ingredients:

• 2 cups – chopped Asparagus spears
• 1 – Onion chopped
• 3 cups – water
• 2 tsp – Butter
• 1 cup – Milk
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp – ground black pepper
• 2 tbsp – grated cheese
• 2 tbsp – Corn flour dissolved in 1/2 cup water

Method:

  1. Boil the asparagus and onion in 3 cups of water till tender.
  2. Remove from heat and blend to a smooth paste in a mixer or blender.
  3. Add the butter, milk, salt, pepper and corn flour/ corn starch.
  4. Cook over moderate heat for a few minutes until smooth and thick, stirring continuously.
  5. Add the grated cheese and simmer for 2 more minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
