Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Poha or Beaten Rice or avval (ground to crystals)
• 2 tsp – rasam powder
• 1.5 tsp – Tamarind paste
• A pinch – Sugar
• a strand -curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Channa dal and Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – groundnuts or Peanuts
• 1 tsp – mustard and Jeera seeds
• a pinch – Turmeric
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Mix the tamarind paste, rasam powder, salt and sugar well into a paste.
  2. Add a little water to soak the poha.
  3. Now, heat oil in a kadai, add mustard, jeera seeds and allow them to splutter.
  4. Add channa dal, urad dal and peanuts.
  5. When they turn golden brown, add curry leaves and a pinch of turmeric.
  6. Add the poha and mix well.
