Ingredients:

• 1 cup – yellow moong dal
• 1 bunch – fresh mooli bhaji chopped fine
• 1 tsp – Ginger grated
• 1/2 tsp – Garlic grated
• 4 – Green chillies (make paste of 2 chillies)
• 1 tbsp – coriander chopped fine
• 1/2 tbsp – Lemon juice
• 1/4 tsp – clove-cinnamon powder
• 1/2 tsp – each cumin and Mustard Seeds
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – Ghee

Method:

  1. Wash dal and pressure cook till done.
  2. Cool and remove dal from cooker.
  3. Wash and drain mooli bhaji.
  4. Heat 1.5 tbsp ghee. Add seeds and splutter.
  5. Add garlic, ginger and chopped mooli bhaji. Stir. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add dal and coriander. Bring to a boil. Do not overcook.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Heat remaining ghee in a small pan.
  9. Add clove cinnamon powder, remaining 2 chillies and pour over dal.
  10. Add lemon juice and salt. Stir well.
  11. Serve hot with rice or parathas.
