Ingredients:

• Fish slices – 1/2 kg
• Ridge gourd – 250 gm, peeled and chopped
• Turmeric powder – 1.5 tsp
• Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
• Mustard oil – 4 tbsp
• Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Lime juice – 2 tsp
• Salt – 1/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Apply salt and turmeric to fish slices and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the fish on both sides, drain well and reserve.
  3. Add fenugreek seeds to the remaining oil in the pan.
  4. When they splutter, add, ridge gourd remaining turmeric and fry well.
  5. Add salt and 1/2 cup of water.
  6. Simmer for 5 mins.
  7. Add the fish, simmer for 2 more mins.
  8. Remove from heat and add in the lime juice and stir.
  9. Serve.
