
Ingredients:
• 2 – Fried appalam
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind paste
• 1 tbsp – Sambar powder
• 2 cups – Water
• 1 tbsp – Bengal Gram dal
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• A pinch of Turmeric
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp – Oil
Method:
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Add mustard and allow it to splutter.
- Add the bengal gram dal, asafoetida and turmeric powder.
- Break the appalam into small pieces and add to it.
- Add the tamarind paste, sambar powder and the water and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add the required amount of salt.
- Serve hot with rice.
