Ingredients:

• 250 g – Refined flour or Maida
• 50 g – Nescafe
• 300 g – Sugar (powdered)
• 250 g – Butter
• 5 – eggs
• 1 tsp – vanilla essence
• 2 level tsp – baking powder
• 3 tbsp – icing Sugar

Method:

  1. Sift the Nescafe, flour and baking powder together.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar well.
  3. Add the eggs one by one and mix well.
  4. Add the vanilla essence.
  5. Slowly add the sifted flour with the other ingredients and fold in the mixture to form a smooth slightly thick consistency without lumps.
  6. Add a little milk if necessary.
  7. Pour into a greased and papered baking dish or cake tin and bake in a hot oven for 40 to 45 minutes till done.
  8. When still hot, sprinkle the icing sugar on top.
