Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – Flour
• 1/2 tsp – Baking soda
• 1/2 tsp – Salt
• 1 tsp – Cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp – Cloves
• 1/2 tsp – Nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp – All spice
• 1/2 cup – Shortening
• 1 cup – Packed Brown sugar
• 1 – Egg
• 1/2 cup – Raisins
• 1/2 cup – Chopped Walnuts
• 1.25 cups – Unsweetened Apple sauce
Method:
- Line a 1.5 quarter glass baking dish or 8×8 inch cake pan (glass) with wax paper and put it aside.
- Sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices together.
- Cream shortening and brown sugar.
- Add egg and beat thoroughly.
- Add raisins and walnuts to apple sauce and mix it well.
- Alternately, add dry ingredients and apple sauce to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour batter into paper lined dish.
- Now, bake it for 15 min in a moderately hot oven and the cake is ready.
