
Ingredients:
• 200 g – tur dal
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tsp – Ghee
• 2 – medium-sized Onions (finely chopped)
• 3-4 flakes – Garlic (finely chopped)
• 2-3 – medium-sized Tomatoes (finely chopped)
• 1/2 tsp – Hing
• 2-3 – Green chillies (finely chopped)
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1-2 tsp – fresh Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
• salt to taste
Method:
- Clean and wash the dal. Soak for about 20 minutes.
- Add salt and turmeric powder.
- Pressure-cook with sufficient water (3-4 whistles).
- Mash the dal gently.
- Heat ghee in a small kadhai.
- Add the chopped onions, tomatoes and garlic.
- Mix well and stir-fry for a few minutes.
- Add hing and chopped green chillies.
- Add the mixture to the dal and mix well.
- Add garam masala and mix well.
- Boil the dal for 3-4 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rotis or steamed rice.
