Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – sooji rava
• 1 – Onion
• 1 cup – avarekai
• 1/2 tsp – black pepper powder
• 1 tsp – Jeera
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 tbsp – grated Coconut
• 1 – Green chilli
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• 3 – Curry leaves
• a pinch – Asafoetida
• Salt as per taste
Method:
- Dry roast rava in a kadai until it turns golden brown and keep aside.
- Cook avarekai till it turns soft and keep aside.
- Heat oil in kadai and splutter mustard and cumin seeds and add to it, turmeric, curry leaves, green chilli and pepper powder.
- Saute the chopped onions till it turns transparent.
- Now add 1.5 cups of water to the onions and add avarekai, salt and sugar and mix well.
- When the water boils add rava little by little.
- Stir continuously so that lumps are not formed.
- Cook covered for about 2 mins. Add grated coconut and mix well.
- Remove from flame and add lemon juice and serve.
