Ingredients:
• 12 – Mackerels
• 8 – Red dry large chillies
• 8 – Peppercorns
• 1″ piece – Turmeric
• 1 tsp – Jeera
• 1 tbsp – Coriander/Dhania
• 2 – Large Onions
• 100 gms – Green chillies
• 1″ – Ginger
• 4 flakes – Garlic
• 2 tbsp – Vinegar
• 2 tbsp – Cooking oil
• Salt to taste
• 1 cup – Coconut Milk
Method:
- Clean and wash the mackerels and keep them aside.
- Grind the dry ingredients in the mixer and keep aside.
- Now grind the fresh ingredients into a paste.
- Then heat oil in a pan and saute the sliced onions and the masala paste.
- Now add the dry masala and fry well.
- Add the fish and let it cook in its own gravy for 15 minutes.
- Stir gently without breaking the fish.
- Then add the coconut milk, vinegar and salt to taste.
- Remove from the stove and let it cool so that the gravy soaks into the fish.
- Serve with rice.
