Ingredients:

• 12 – Mackerels
• 8 – Red dry large chillies
• 8 – Peppercorns
• 1″ piece – Turmeric
• 1 tsp – Jeera
• 1 tbsp – Coriander/Dhania
• 2 – Large Onions
• 100 gms – Green chillies
• 1″ – Ginger
• 4 flakes – Garlic
• 2 tbsp – Vinegar
• 2 tbsp – Cooking oil
• Salt to taste
• 1 cup – Coconut Milk

Method:

  1. Clean and wash the mackerels and keep them aside.
  2. Grind the dry ingredients in the mixer and keep aside.
  3. Now grind the fresh ingredients into a paste.
  4. Then heat oil in a pan and saute the sliced onions and the masala paste.
  5. Now add the dry masala and fry well.
  6. Add the fish and let it cook in its own gravy for 15 minutes.
  7. Stir gently without breaking the fish.
  8. Then add the coconut milk, vinegar and salt to taste.
  9. Remove from the stove and let it cool so that the gravy soaks into the fish.
  10. Serve with rice.
