Ingredients:
• 1 cup – rava
• 2 cups – besan
• 4 cups – Sugar
• 1 cup – dry fruits like almonds, Cashewnuts (crushed)
• 2 tbsp – Ghee
• 2 tbsp – gond (gum)
• 2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• A few slivers of Almond for garnishing
Method:
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add rava, stir it till it is roasted.
- Add besan and roast it. Stir the mixture continuously on low flame.
- In a separate utensil, heat 2 tbsp of ghee.
- Fry gond in the ghee and crush it; add it to the dry fruit mix.
- Add this mix to rava besan mixture.
- In a saucepan take 3 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar.
- Boil till you get 1 tar chashni (1-string thread).
- Add the above mix in the sugar solution and stir continuously. Keep stirring continuously so that no lumps are formed.
- Remove to a plate and garnish with cardamom powder and almond slivers.
- Allow to cool and cut into diamond shapes.
