Ingredients:

• Okra – 250 g
• Mustard – 2 tsp
• Jeera – 1 tsp
• Kalonji – 1 tsp
• Saunf – 1 tsp
• Red Chilli – 5-10
• Pinch – Asafoetida
• Salt to taste
• Puree – of 2 Tomatoes
• Extract of Tamarind – a very little quantity
• Oil – for frying
• Turmeric – 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Roast 1 tsp mustard, kalonji, saunf and red chilli in 2-3 tsp of oil and grind the mixture.
  2. Heat oil and add mustard, jeera, turmeric and okra in it.
  3. Add the ground mixture and salt to taste.
  4. Fry the okra for about 10-15 mins
  5. Add tomato puree and 2 tbsp of tamarind water.
  6. Cook well for a few minutes.
