Ingredients:
• 400 g – okra, tips and ends, snipped off
• 4 – green chillies, chopped finely
• 2 tbsp – coriander leaves, finely chopped
• 1 cup – gram flour
• 1 tbsp – Rice flour
• 1 – slice day-old bread
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – carom seeds (ajwain)
• 1 tbsp – hot oil
• salt to taste
• oil to deep fry
Method:
- Slice okra into very thin rounds. Add green chillies, coriander, seeds and sprinkle a little salt.
- Crumble and add bread, flours, hot oil.
- Add a little water and mix loosely to form a very thick batter.
- Heat oil and put a small dumpling of batter.
- Deep fry on medium heat till light golden and crisp.
- Serve hot with chutneys, sauce or ketchup.
