Ingredients:
• 1 kg Chicken
• 3 Onions
• 2 Tomatoes
• Chicken masala powder (any brand) – as desired.
• 1 tbsp Lemon juice
• oil as required for frying and sauting
• salt to taste
• Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
- Cut the chicken into small pieces and marinate them with chicken masala powder, salt and lemon juice.
- Allow them to sit for an hour or so.
- After an hour, fry the marinated chicken pieces till brown.
- Chop onions and tomatoes finely.
- Saute chopped onions with oil in a kadai till light brown in colour.
- Add tomatoes to it.
- After few minutes, add chicken masala powder and salt to it.
- Once the onion and tomatoes mixture turns brown , add water as desired and let it boil.
- Add the fried chicken pieces to the onion and tomato mixture and allow the water to simmer.
- Wait till the water evaporates to form a thick gravy and remove it from the heat.
- If you woud like the chicken to be dry, allow water to evaporate fully.
- Garnish the chicken fry with coriander (cilantro) leaves.
- Goes well with chappati and rice.
